This special nesting software was written by Atom especially for use by their CNC die cutting systems. The software provides the user with an easy to use system to obtain the best material and machine utilization. Flashnest is best used on a remote PC for planning of jobs for the machine. Many users run job costing estimates with our software in order to give proper job quotes. This assures that you purchase the best material size for the job.
THE SOFTWARE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
Digitizing Module (Shed - Shape Editor)
This module connects the special Atom digitizer table to the software for input of actual dies. These die shapes are stored in a database for future use. Each die needs to be digitized only once.
Die Processing (DieProc)
This module pre-calculates the best possible "nest" for each die prior to nesting. These "possible nests" are stored in the PC to provide the best nesting, in the quickest time, when the material and quantity is determined. Each die needs to be dieprocessed only once.
Nesting Module (Fnest)
The module is used for creating cutting orders for single die layouts. Nesting is done in a few seconds and is based on the job's specification for quantity, material size and type (sheets or rolls) and any other restriction that may apply. (ie: rotation allowance, gap between parts, etc.) The nesting results are displayed on the PC screen with material usage, estimated cutting time and a graphical look at the cutting pattern. This information is then printed to hard copy and the job is saved on a diskette (optional network connection) for transfer to the machine. Prior knowledge of CAD or machine programming is not necessary!
Dxf Converter (Dxf to Die)
Converts CAD .dxf files to die files for use by the system. This allows input of a shape before purchasing a die. Many customers use this at the point of quoting new die cutting jobs.
Scan Converter (Find Edge)
Converts scanner output files (.tif) to die files for use by the system. This is useful before the die is purchased and if a CAD file is not available. A drawing of the actual part (or the actual part) can be scanned on a normal desktop scanner for use with the system.
